Indian cricket squad is being captained by Rohit Sharma for the Hero Nidahas Trophy as Virat Kohli rest for the tournament. India will be playing the inaugural match against Sri Lanka in Hero Nidahas Trophy 2018 commencing from 6th March and the final match of the tournament will be held on 18th March at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka has invited Bangladesh and India to play the trophy as its celebrating its 70th year of Independence. Indian Cricket team selectors have decided to rest as many as six-star players which includes Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav. The country has given an opportunity to its young players ahead of ICC.
Dinesh Chandimal will lead the Sri Lanka team in the absence of Angelo Mathews until he recovers from hamstring injury suffered in Bangladesh. Sri Lankan cricket board has re-appointed Mathews after Sri Lanka team’s downfall in India tour last year. Looking forward Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Rangana Herath will turn as the new spark in the home team and take it towards the victory. Trusting the newly appointed coach Sri Lanka is looking for a positive future ahead.
Bangladesh is the third team which will be involved in the tournament after India. Mahmudullah has named as the Bangladesh skipper as Shakib Al Hasan injured during the final tri-national ODI against Sri Lanka in Dhaka. The country has roped in Hasan as it hopes him to recover before the tournament ends and can stage in sometime soon. All the three teams are gearing for the victory.
Compared to the early matches, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have learned that defeating India is not simple as it stands in 3rd number at the T20 ranking. Virat Kohli has set new records in the recent years which has taken team India to the top. Even in Virat’s absence Rohit Sharma has potrayed excellent captaincy and have lead the nation to victory in the past. With Shikar Dhawan as vice-captain debut cricketers and young tyros will bat their best and score maximum runs.
